Mitigating Business Risk is the fourth session of the 5-part Mastering Defence Infrastructure program, specifically crafted to empower industry professionals to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate the unique risks encountered in Defence projects.
In this practical and interactive 90-minute workshop, attendees will learn how to systematically manage risks associated with Defence infrastructure delivery. The session introduces participants to the Defence Infrastructure Project Risk and Contingency (DIPRAC) framework, covering key risk categories including geographic, environmental, stakeholder-related, technical, and contractual challenges inherent to Defence contracts.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in applying practical tools and methodologies for risk assessment, mitigation planning, and contingency allocation. The workshop will also emphasise Defence's expectations for balanced risk-sharing arrangements, providing valuable insights on negotiating contractual terms and effectively distributing risk responsibilities.
Attendees will leave this session with enhanced skills in proactively identifying potential project risks, articulating mitigation strategies clearly within proposals, and confidently managing risks throughout the project lifecycle. By developing a comprehensive understanding of Defence-specific risk management approaches, participants will significantly increase their organisation's resilience and competitive advantage when tendering for and delivering Defence projects.
This critical session ensures industry professionals are well-prepared to navigate the complexities and unique challenges associated with Defence infrastructure delivery, contributing directly to sustained project success and strengthening stakeholder relationships.
