Come to Dinner: Employers - Welcome your Workers New to Central Australia!

Event description

Helping workers new to Central Australia connect, belong and build a life in their new community.

Relocating for work is about much more than starting a new job, it's about embracing change and starting a new stage of life in a location very different for most.

Come to Dinner gives employers a simple and meaningful way to welcome new workers and their partners, acknowledge the significant move they have made, and help them feel valued from day one.

Bring your workers new to the region (whether 6 days or 6 months) to a casual BBQ dinner where they can meet other newcomers, build local connections, find out local information and start feeling at home. It's a simple but powerful way to show your support extends beyond the workplace, and you'll pick up some ideas too.

This special OBM event celebrates one year of Come to Dinner activities, supported through the Mparntwe Alice Springs Community Foundation and a dedicated Come to Dinner Team, all of whom have relocated to Alice Springs from other parts of Australia and the world.

Hear from key speakers from the NT Government, business and new workers themselves.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the West MacDonnell Ranges at Blatherskite Park, the evening includes a delicious meal, fun activities, door prizes and opportunities to connect and reflect on all the reasons people choose to live and work in the Red Centre.

Because people who feel connected are more likely to stay.

See you and your workers there!
