About this event
A key aspect of ensuring health and safety of people at work is building the resilience of the organisation to withstand a safety shocks - that is, to have a safe outcome notwithstanding a failure of a safety particular control. If a system is so vulnerable that all it takes is one thing going wrong for an injury to occur, it's not much of a system. This session will explore how to build up the resilience of the system - the layers of Swiss cheese - that prevent an event from resulting into an incident.
In this Safe Work Month presentation, work health and safety laws expert Michael Tooma will explore this with reference to 20 essential elements of a safety management system.
