MEC NT

You can hear Sam’s story at the Adam Jacobs: Lessons from building THE ICONIC, thanks to NAB in Darwin on Friday 30 October 2026.
Sam Molloy is the co-director of MEC NT, a Northern Territory-owned electrical and communications contracting company delivering projects and maintenance services across the NT and northern Western Australia. An electrician by trade, Sam established the business in 2010 while working on the Australian Government’s housing construction and refurbishment program in remote communities. Starting with just 3 employees, he steadily grew the business in response to increasing demand and a reputation for delivering challenging projects in some of Australia's most remote locations.
Today, MEC NT provides turnkey electrical and communications solutions, combining skilled labour and specialist expertise across electrical, communications, energy management, renewable energy, security, access control and project management. Under Sam's leadership, the company has grown into one of the Territory's largest industry employers, supporting major government, Defence and infrastructure projects while continuing its strong presence in regional and remote communities.
Sam attributes the company's success to strong relationships with clients, builders, developers and government agencies, along with a culture built on teamwork and resilience. His leadership philosophy is simple: deliver what you commit to, support your people and keep moving forward when challenges arise.
