October Business Month visits regional Territory with SAS veteran

As October Business Month continues, SAS Australia’s resident medic Dr Dan Pronk will take his inspiring story far and wide across the Territory.

Dan resigned himself to studying medicine on an army scholarship after failing dismally in his first career dream of being a professional triathlete. But it didn’t stop him from achieving his goal, first qualifying as an army doctor before completing SAS selection and moving into special operations where he served for 5 years, including 4 tours of Afghanistan.

Upon discharge from the army, he completed an MBA and moved into medical leadership roles, including as deputy of a regional hospital, and medical director for a state prison health service, before becoming a more household name in his position on SAS Australia, and in writing best-selling book The Resilience Shield with fellow SAS veterans Ben Pronk and Tim Curtis.

Recognising his learned skills from his military life translated into becoming a more resilient man in an ever-changing and complex world and it’s from this place of self-belief that he looks to support others in creating positive mental health outcomes.

Dr Pronk will be making visits to Nhulunbuy on 11 October, Tennant Creek on 12 October and in Darwin on 13 October to share stories of his time in the SAS.
