Crystal Pollitt

You can hear Crystal’s story at the Carolyn Creswell: from Kitchen Table to Global Brand keynote event in Alice Springs on Wednesday 8 October 2025.
Entrepreneur Crystal Pollitt converted her garden shed into a dog grooming parlour after being made redundant - thinking that if the dog grooming business didn’t work out at least she’d have a nice shed.
The dog grooming did work out.
Within 3 years, Bark n’ Bath had grown so much that Crystal had to move to a commercial property.
She now has 2 shops and 17 staff - and has added cat grooming, dog and cat boarding, and dog daycare to the services.
And the Alice Springs-based business sells animal food and products from a retail store.
“I was filling a gap in the market, but as I gained confidence from the support and trust I received from so many beautiful clients, I was able to dream a little bigger,” she says.
“Having amazing staff has also been essential to our growth and success.”
Crystal is driven by more than a love of animals.
“I love succeeding when the world is against you. It’s nice beating the odds. Hopefully, I can or have inspired others to do the same.”
Bark n’ Bath is benefiting from an advanced software system and hopes to use AI and increase the company’s online presence.
“I love the Territory - full stop. Having the opportunity to have a business here is a bonus and one that wouldn’t have been possible if we lived elsewhere.”
