Clear writing is a skill every workplace runs on, yet most of us weren't taught it. The way you write shapes how people see you. This program builds those skills: practical, current and ready to use the next day. It's the in-person training almost 18,000 Territory workers have done with me over the past 12 years.
A package of 3 workshops over 1.5 days, delivered in person at the GYRACC Auditorium. $650pp for the full program (incl. GST).
Day 1 – Tuesday 13 October (9am–3.45pm)
Punctuation Unpacked – the punctuation that quietly shapes how professional you look. Get apostrophes, commas and capitals right, and your writing reads clean; get them wrong and people notice. You'll stop guessing and learn why each rule works so you can trust your own writing.
How to Write in Plain English – how to cut the waffle and jargon so a busy reader gets your point the first time. You'll write faster, sound clearer and stop burying your message in long words and clunky sentences.
Day 2 – Wednesday 14 October (9.30am–noon)
Email Writing – a practical session on writing emails that get read and actioned: clear subject lines, keeping it brief, greetings and sign-offs, tone, and the CC and 'reply all' mistakes that trip people up.
This program is for anyone who writes at work – across government, business, industry and the not-for-profit sector, whether English is your first language or your fourth, from first-timers to experienced writers.
