Matthew Jacques is a former Royal Australian Navy maritime logistics chief petty officer and co-founder and CEO of Neptune Holding Group, a veteran-owned Northern Territory management and solutions company operating across Australia and Asia. Following a distinguished 20-year Navy career that included extensive service supporting border protection operations across northern Australia, Matthew retired in 2026 and now leads a growing group of businesses spanning security, facilities services, cyber security and workforce training.
Founded while Matthew was still serving full-time in the Navy, Neptune was built on a vision of creating meaningful career opportunities for veterans and applying Defence-style leadership, planning and accountability to the private sector.
Today, the group delivers services for major events, government, Defence and industry clients, supported by a strong culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Matthew is also a respected safety advocate, having worked as a supervisor and investigator within Defence's Sentinel safety system and established the HMAS Coonawarra Safety Magazine, which earned the 2025 Comcare National Work Health and Safety Award. He is a regular contributor to leadership and safety discussions and is scheduled to present at the Comcare National Conference in Canberra.
Beyond business, Matthew founded Forces Football Darwin and published the leadership book DICTATOR in 2026. He remains committed to developing resilient leaders, supporting veterans and proving that nationally recognised companies can be built and led from the Northern Territory.
