The growth of Humpty Doo Barramundi is one of the most extraordinary stories in the history of fish farming in Australia.
The family-owned and operated company began in 1993 with a modest annual harvest of 300kg. It now sells more than 3,000 tonnes every year and is the biggest barramundi fish farm in the country.
Humpty Doo Barramundi is developing into a world-leading sustainable, environmentally-friendly operation. And that’s good news for the Northern Territory.
The company has an excellent reputation for dealing fairly with subcontractors and training young Territorians. Chief executive Dan Richards is following in his father Bob’s footsteps by running the business in an ethical way.
Dan Richards will present at October Business Month in Katherine.
Date: Thursday 22 October
Time: 10:30am to 11am
Venue: Katherine Town Council - Civic Centre, Lot 1865 Stuart Highway, Katherine.
