Kim Ford has achieved worldwide success despite trying to retire. He returned home to Darwin after working in the IT industry for 15 years with every intention of quitting work - but became bored and bought a locksmith firm to keep busy.
Kim soon realised that small business owners are plagued by administration problems, so he and his sons developed a job-management app, ServiceM8, which manages every facet of business - from job quoting and estimates to invoicing on completion.
The app has been described as being to small business management what Facebook is to email. Kim’s remarkable success adds to the Northern Territory’s growing reputation as a small IT hub.
Kim Ford will present at October Business Month in Darwin on Tuesday 27 October.
Date: Tuesday 27 October
Time: 10am to 10:15am
Venue: DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin, 116 The Esplanade, Darwin.
