Jeremy Boucher

New Future IT

You can hear Jeremy’s story at the Katherine Business Dinner with Dr Anika Molesworth on Friday 7 October 2022.

Indigenous-owned New Future IT started as a two-man business working out of a house 15 years ago.

Now it has 34 staff operating from a head office in Darwin and with offices in Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Adelaide.

The firm’s most notable success has been winning a lucrative contract with NEC Australia.

New Future is at the forefront of training Territorians, particularly Aboriginal workers, and runs broad, practical IT programs in Wadeye, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Darwin.

Jeremy Boucher, who owns the business with Jesse Leal, puts the company’s success down to hard work, never giving up and building a good team.

“We are succeeding because we see the long-term goal and slowly move towards it."

“We understand people's strengths and play into those strengths.”

Staff are constantly encouraged and supported to improve their skills.

“Many of them have to be like Swiss army knives when working in remote communities,” says Jeremy.

“We plan to continue growing into all communities across the Territory and South Australia and see our traineeship program grow to a point where we have hundreds of businesses, schools and people taking part.”
