Darwin Innovation Hub
The Darwin Innovation Hub (DIH) is the meeting point for commercialising business in Northern Australia. We support domestic and global start-ups and high growth businesses looking to do business in the Northern Territory. We assist companies to find applications and funding for their ventures and technologies, scale into new markets and commercialise their research, all while staying abreast of and informing industry on new developments.
The DIH employs a number of highly skilled growth facilitators that cover all facets of business development and growth including: process and project management, marketing, finance, digital transformation and partnerships, research connections, product development and manufacturing, corporate advisory and supply chain facilitation, across a broad range of industries, specifically selected to attend to the growing and emerging industries of the Northern Territory.
Our key services include start-up business development, start-up mentorship, industry problem workshops, venture capital investment readiness, international market development, executive training workshops and pitch events.
McArthur River Mine is located in the Northern Territory approximately 720km southeast of Darwin and 60km southwest of Borroloola. McArthur River mines one of the world’s largest zinc and lead deposits. The mine provides direct employment for around 1,200 people, including contractors. In 2020, it contributed more than $500 million to the local, Territory and national economies through wages, goods and services. Around 1 in 5 of the mine’s employees are Indigenous and around 20% are female and the mine is committed to providing sustainable employment opportunities for Territorians.
