Turia Pitt

Without a doubt, Turia Pitt is one of Australia’s most admired and widely recognised people.

Renowned for her pure grit, indomitable spirit and passion for humanitarian work, Australians have taken Turia into their hearts and are deeply inspired by her.

In 2011, age 24, Turia was an ex-model, fitness junkie and successful mining engineer when she was caught in a freak firestorm while competing in a 100km ultramarathon in Western Australia. She was choppered out of the remote desert barely alive, with full thickness burns to 64% of her body.

Surviving against overwhelming odds is the least of her achievements. Turia has gone on to thrive in the ultimate story of triumph over adversity.

In 2016 alone, Turia has competed in her first Ironman competition, and is releasing a new book and an online motivational program as well as walk the Kokoda trail to raise money for Interplast, a not-for-profit organisation that she is closely aligned to. Turia has raised close to $1 million since she began working with the organisation several years ago.

This engaging and refreshingly candid young woman will astonish you, inspire you and leave you in stitches. Her enthralling message of overcoming adversity and the need to never ever give up will motivate you … out of your chair, and into life. The standing ovation Turia was given at her TED talk is a testament to her skills as an orator. Turia’s motto 'never ever give up' resonates with people from all walks of life - anyone, anywhere, who refuses to be limited by circumstance. She is a true and profound inspiration to all those she meets.

Jason Dooris

Jason Dooris is the CEO and Founder of Atomic 212°, one of the most recognised agencies ranking as the #3 Global Media Agency (Source: WARC) and #1 Media Network (Source: AdNews). Starting his career in London in 1995, Jason’s experience is rare in that it includes media, creative and management consultancy.

Jason is well known in the industry for his firm stance on transparency and integrity within the media community.  Areas of interest include brand reinvention, the performance and accountability of media and behavioural psychology. Over 22 years, Jason’s vertical experience covers most categories with a focus on retail, automotive and fast-moving consumer goods.

Jason’s strategic leadership is reflected in the range of professional honours he has been awarded, including Campaign Agency Head of the Year for two years in a row, as well as 2016 Media Executive of the Year in the CEO Magazine Executive of the Year Awards.

Nigel Collin

Nigel Collin

Nigel created his first business at the age of 20 and sold it at 21. He then went on to build Absurd Entertainment, one of Australia first and largest entertainment design companies. He worked extensively on the 2000 Olympics, was entertainment advisor at the Paralympics, grounds entertainment producer of the Sydney Royal Easter Show for six years and still holds the accolade of being show director for Australia's largest ever corporate event. He is now Founder of Thinkativity and Director of North Ryde Riding School.

In 2013, armed with a video camera, Nigel set out on an initiative to travel throughout Australia, solo on his motorbike, to discover ingenious Australians and share their stories. His quest was to inspire the ideas of a nation. In 2014, as an ambassador of Start-up Australia, he interviewed over fifty of Australia's top entrepreneurs and business leaders.

This unique research, along with his business experience, has given Nigel unique insights into profitable growth and offers an achievable process for everyday innovation and improvement.

Nigel's message is that business is a 'game of inches' and not a one-off event. He believes that 99% of successes come from many small, practical steps rather than a single 'eureka' idea. The big idea makes a good story in a speech, but it's hard for delegates to incorporate into their everyday working lives.

Having now spent over twenty years in business events (both on and off the stage) he understands the importance of not just being engaging, but delivering practical and lasting business benefits.

He has advised Ministers of Parliament, C-Suite executives and entrepreneurs. Organisations in a myriad of industries including IT, franchise, events, marketing, finance, pharmaceuticals, government and telecommunications have benefited from his experience and expertise.

Wayne Pearce

Wayne Pearce

Wayne Pearce is one of Australia's most respected and highest profile rugby league identities. Over the past decade he has established a reputation for engaging leaders in delivery of effective change management programs.

Wayne carved out an illustrious career in rugby league where he represented and captained the Balmain Tigers, New South Wales and Australia from 1980 to 1990. He played 217 competition matches for the Tigers, 15 State of Origin matches and 19 tests for Australia.

Wayne was the pin-up boy and face of rugby league throughout the 1980s and in 1988, long-time team-mate Benny Elias said of Wayne: 'Of all the players I ever saw, he was the closest at playing up to his full potential every week. Albert Einstein once said that human beings only use five percent of their potential but Albert did not meet Junior Pearce'.

In 1988, while still a player, he was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to rugby league and the community. During his playing career, Wayne also completed a Bachelor of Science degree and Diploma of Education at the University of New South Wales. He found his university psychology studies to be particularly useful when he retired from playing and commenced a professional coaching career with the Balmain Tigers. He coached the Tigers through a period of massive change when they merged with Western Suburbs to become the Wests Tigers. He was so successful as the Tigers coach that he was appointed New South Wales state of origin coach in 1999.

Wayne's outstanding leadership was again showcased in the year 2000 when he coached the NSW Blues to a 3-0 whitewash over Queensland, becoming the only person to both captain (which he did in 1986) and then coach (in 2000) a 3-0 series win.

Wayne is widely regarded as an innovator and in 2001 upon retiring from sports coaching, he took his knowledge and expertise in leading high performing teams to the corporate world with Wayne Pearce Advantage.

By combining proven sports psychology techniques with a mix of organisational and behavioural change methodologies, Wayne has developed a range of powerful tools and techniques designed to help businesses address gaps in the areas of leadership, teamwork and motivation.

He has a wide portfolio of satisfied clients across Australia and south-east Asia who have benefited from his highly effective outcomes-based methods and workshops. His clients include ANSTO, John Holland, Bunnings, Caltex, Commonwealth Bank, Coates Hire, Downer EDI, IAG Insurance, News Limited, RTA and UGL.

Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson

Peter was appointed CEO of Melbourne Football Club on 1 May 2013, with a mandate to lead a total rebuild of the club, including the football and financial performance, as well as the culture and leadership of the club.

In the three years from 2013 to 2015, the club turned around from a $3 million reported loss in 2013 to an operating profit in 2015 of almost $600,000, and over $720,000 in 2016. Football department had a complete rebuild of staff, coaches, playing list and most critically the club culture in football and administration. The club substantially improved performance on the field and is now looking towards a period of sustained on-field improvement.

Prior to joining Melbourne Football Club, Peter operated as a consultant providing strategic advice, mentoring and leadership development for companies as well as to some other AFL clubs.

Peter has held various positions in the AFL industry. He was CEO and / or managing director of Essendon Football Club from 1996 to 2009. Following his retirement from Essendon, Peter was appointed Chairman of AFL Victoria as well as Chairman of AFL SportsReady. He relinquished these roles after joining Melbourne Football Club.

In recent times, Peter has also held other positions outside the AFL industry. He was Chairman of The Buchan Group Melbourne, a major global commercial architectural practice, with offices and projects throughout United Kingdom, Europe, China, Asia and Middle East, as well as Australia, which he relinquished in February 2016 due to the ongoing demands of the role of CEO of Melbourne FC.

At present, Peter is a Director with Australian Schools Plus, a company dedicated to generating philanthropic support to schools in disadvantaged communities, in order to close the education gap.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Adelaide University.
